A Web Designers Use of ACP
This section is currently under construction.
As a programmers tool, ACP provides functionality and power to a developer.
But what does it offer to the non-developer - the traditional web master who
knows how to create CGI scripts or simply HTML content?
Well.. in short, everything that a normal web server offers, and a whole
bunch more.
This section provides details on how to utilise this functionality by
describing the pre-configured Service Modules that come with this product.
The modules included are:
- The Image module which allows you to specify arguments to images which can resize, swirl, draw text, emboss or do a host of things WITH NO PROGRAMMING KNOWLEDGE AT ALL...
- The CGI module allows you to write CGI modules as you would normally do them
- The Thumbs module allows you to automatically generate configurable thumb nail views, by simply providing a directory containing images
- The Archive module allows you to feed web content directly out of posted compressed archive files, rather than having to decompress on them on the site
- The Image Mangler provides a toy which the end user can use to manipulate images
- The Redirector provides the facility to link your ACP server to another http server (be it ACP or another and have the contents transparently passed through your server...)
- The MP3 module re-encodes mp3 to a configurable bit rate while streaming to a client
- The MP3 Indexer provides an indexed view of vast, distributed MP3 collections...
The pre-supplied modules are provided to show the power and versatility of the
ACP server. New modules can be written by you, or created by modifying the old
ones or obtained from any ACP Module supplier...
Watch this space.. there's fun to be had :-).
